Tool # 11 Reflections

To be honest to you all and to myself. This technological update given to the teachers of this School District can easily show the very fast growing area of technology that will marked the future learning. My favorite tools are Blogs which make possible the combination of almost all tools ; Google tools like Docs. and Reader; the Apps in mobile devices that can make 24/7 centers and last but not least Jing and Skype that enhance the actual communication systems. I was not surprised of any particular outcome but I was pleased with this change of our teaching process that match the technological advances given.

Tool # 11 Digital Citizenship

As any other serious activity we need to maintain rules, policies and responsibility among all the participants. Because if the overall activity is surrounded by a healthy behavior we will be able to work better.

Tool # 10 Exploring Mobile Technology and Apps

It is a large amount of interactive activities that bring learning, development of different skills and high amounts of practice that follows you 24/7 and is in your hands. There are several applications for using this devices but the best description will be " a sophisticated communication tool." Students can use this devices as open books ,an scheduler, a video camera, an exam simulator, etc.

Tool # 9 Sharing Information Trough Jing & Skype

It is really quit difficult to use screencast and Jing with our Pre-K students but we can introduce the concept of communication and how we can share other information by means of this tool. Skype is a concept more related to a phone system and more easy to understand the concept of having communication locally, at distance with persons we know are not near to us. The opportunity to share instant information (not only words but also images and documents ) with someone that is in contact with you no matter how far away is amazing.

Title # 8 Video Resources

Videos have been a big source of information that almost everyone have been in touch with. Educational videos are all over the place. To integrate more and more educational videos to the process of learning will provide a huge amount of information that will expose the learner to richer experiences. The Math videos will introduce my students to a different approach by using music to lead them on the use of math concepts.

Tool # 7 Digital Storytelling

Storytelling is now taken to the big screen and we will need to take acting training as well. This is going to be a great tool where students can be motivated to participate just for the reward of seeing themselves on the story.

Tool # 6 Wikis

After looking several Wikis and knowing the Wikipedia site I have been wondering how our little ones can use it? I thought a good way could be by matching letters with pictures in a pasting activity that help them be introduced to this concept. Obviously this tool will be very helpful between our teacher teams and other collaborators to build in any topic that benefit us all.
